  • Designs and develops software applications such as utility programmes and general application software
  • Works with the user to determine needs and creates software to meet these needs
  • Modifies existing software to fix problems, optimise its functions and enable its use on new hardware platforms
  • Oversees installation of software systems and monitors equipment
  • Performs testing and validation of software systems to ensure that applications work properly
